California State University East Bay (CSUEB) is a textbook example of a school that purchased the right solution to replace its existing Service Management solution but was unsuccessful in the initial implementation. (Read More Here)

Because the initial ServiceNow implementation focused on delivering the same functionality as the existing toolset, it led to customer dissatisfaction and leadership’s decision to discontinue implementation. Meanwhile, new requirements continued to be added, including asset tracking as part of security audit regulations.

The Roadmap to Implementation Success

Cask developed a strategic roadmap to ensure a successful ServiceNow implementation and Service Management transformation program for CSU East Bay. We recommended a focus on services, including a self-service capability and service desk organizational change.

Cask engaged with CSUEB leadership to define services, build out a services hierarchy, and define user interaction requirements for self-service. We then implemented the ServiceNow Content Management System (CMS), Service Catalog, Request Fulfillment, and Incident Management functionalities.

Cask also worked with the CSUEB team on the organizational change required to make their ServiceNow implementation a success.
